Returning volunteers, Jessica Mroos said on her trip

“During my visits to Cambodia to see Pastor Hor’s church ministry and work that he’s doing, I was overwhelmed with joy to see the never-ending opportunities he has to share the gospel of Jesus with people every single day. He and his family along with several bible school students, tirelessly and willingly strive every day to serve from sun up to sun down to help their own people. “Now that Pastor Hor’s church building is up and running, he is able to hold weekly church services as well as open his building through the week for free English classes.

He also uses his resources to provide the basic everyday necessities like food and clothing to the people that visit. As he and his ministry team work daily to serve the Cambodian people, he has brilliantly used these service opportunities to explain to the people it’s because of Jesus Christ that he’s doing this for them. He’s also begun teaching free Bible classes along with the english classes. “Since the Cambodian people are in desperate need, they are very open to hear more about who this Jesus is because of what Pastor Hor’s church and ministry team are doing to help meet their basic physical needs.

Pastor Hor and his ministry team are a beautiful example of Christ in their community, so much so that the Cambodian people are spreading the word about his work to others. His church continues to grow because of the work that he and his family are doing in their community. “I realized how far the American dollar can go in Cambodia! The average person’s monthly salary is equivalent to about $170 US dollars (factory workers) and government teacher about is equivalent to about $300 (http://www.khmertimeskh.com/news/19814/public-school-salaries-set-to-increase/). This means that every church that helps support Pastor Hor’s ministry can have a tremendous impact in reaching Cambodia for Jesus.” – Jessica Mroos
