Returning volunteers, Jessica Mroos said on her trip

“During my visits to Cambodia to see Pastor Hor’s church ministry and work that he’s doing, I was overwhelmed with joy to see the never-ending opportunities he has to share the gospel of Jesus with people every single day. He and his family along with several bible school students, tirelessly and willingly strive every day to serve from sun up to sun down to help their own people. “Now that Pastor Hor’s church building is up and running, he is able to hold weekly church services as well as open his building through the week for free English classes.

He also uses his resources to provide the basic everyday necessities like food and clothing to the people that visit. As he and his ministry team work daily to serve the Cambodian people, he has brilliantly used these service opportunities to explain to the people it’s because of Jesus Christ that he’s doing this for them. He’s also begun teaching free Bible classes along with the english classes. “Since the Cambodian people are in desperate need, they are very open to hear more about who this Jesus is because of what Pastor Hor’s church and ministry team are doing to help meet their basic physical needs.

Pastor Hor and his ministry team are a beautiful example of Christ in their community, so much so that the Cambodian people are spreading the word about his work to others. His church continues to grow because of the work that he and his family are doing in their community. “I realized how far the American dollar can go in Cambodia! The average person’s monthly salary is equivalent to about $170 US dollars (factory workers) and government teacher about is equivalent to about $300 (http://www.khmertimeskh.com/news/19814/public-school-salaries-set-to-increase/). This means that every church that helps support Pastor Hor’s ministry can have a tremendous impact in reaching Cambodia for Jesus.” – Jessica Mroos

Claudia Ortiz said on her mission trip

“I had the opportunity of traveling to Cambodia and meeting Pastor Hor Ponlok and his congregation in February of 2016. My experience was beautiful and extremely humbling. Pastor Hor along with the youths and Bible students that help him are kingdom soldiers. He lives his life as if his days are numbered. His time on Earth is limited, there is work to be done, and he joyfully arises each morning with a kingdom purpose. He is passionate about reaching as many people as possible and by the grace of God his ministry is doing mighty works on limited funds.

Those of us in the United States, as well as other prospering areas worldwide, have been graciously gifted by our Father with earthly physical comforts. Sithar got her surgery

Sitha got her surgery on her throat, which took about four hours. I appreciate EGBC and her members who covered all of the costs. I appreciate my wife and my son, Joseph, who always follow me. Again, thanks to KBPC who allowed me to help Sitha and allowed me to be the preacher

and doer of the Gospel. Sister Sitha would like to express her gratitude to the donors who prayed for her and loves her.

KOMPONGSOM B-P CHURCH

Welcome in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!

A church should be a new Christian culture, Acts 2:40-41. When someone in a city or community gets saved, they are still living in the Cambodian culture. All of Cambodia’s religious values, ethics, beliefs and practices will pull at that new Christian to come back.

Kompongsom B-P Church is important because it gives a new Christian a place to go where they can be reminded of the ways of Christ and be strengthened them not to go back into the old culture. This can be seen in Acts 2:40. Most of these new Christians were Jews and they were going to be pressured to fall back into the ways of the Jews. Therefore, Peter tells them that the culture should not determine what they practice, honor and love. He urges them to come into the community of the church and learn the new ways of Christ and the Christian culture.

This means becoming a Christian changes the way one looks at everything – and it is the mission of the church to reteach God’s people how to live in new ways in light of God’s Word. It means that the church must teach God’s people to look at all relationships, family, work, money, technology, suffering, sex and marriage, how to treat others and personal identity.

Through our website, we welcome you to learn more about Komponsom B-P Church, our history, doctrinal beliefs, church ministries and fellowship meetings. Pastoral articles and sermons are uploaded for your edification and knowledge.

It is our hope and joy to have you worship with us on Sunday mornings and participate in one of our many ministries and fellowship meetings available through the week. It is my prayer that we will all come to a greater understanding and knowledge of our Triune God, and derive true joy in Christ alone.

Thanks always,
Rev. Hor Ponlok
